SLSU wins strategic excellence and cultural performance awards

After a week of immersive face-to-face cultural exchange activities, Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) delegates proudly brought home the Strategic Excellence Award and Best Cultural Performance Award from participating Asian and European universities.

From AI strategic discussions, Indonesian language and culture workshops, local cultural tours, and forums on sustainable practices, nine SLSU delegates eagerly embraced the challenge to collaborate with international peers, exchange innovative ideas, and demonstrate leadership in cross-cultural problem-solving.

During the exchange, the delegates gained hands-on experience in navigating diverse cultural perspectives, applying strategic thinking in team activities, and building networks that extend across continents. Participants highlighted how engaging in international discussions, observing sustainable practices, and presenting their own university culture enhanced their intercultural competence, adaptability, and global outlook.

At the closing ceremony, SLSU delegates delivered a vibrant national cultural dance, accompanied by a background video showcasing Southern Leyte State University, Limasawa, and Southern Leyte’s rich cultural heritage. Performing to the song Piliin Mo Ang Pilipinas, they invited representatives from participating countries to experience the Philippines firsthand. The performance captivated audiences, earning applause for both authenticity and creativity.

The Strategic Excellence Award, a new recognition introduced for this batch, was conferred for outstanding engagement in collaborative strategy activities and exceptional problem-solving skills demonstrated during AI discussions and sustainability forums. Meanwhile, the Best Cultural Performance Award acknowledged the delegates’ compelling presentation of Filipino culture through dance, multimedia storytelling, and enthusiastic participation. These achievements underscore SLSU’s commitment to its core values of integrity, excellence, and global citizenship, solidifying its identity as a university that excels on the international stage.
