SLSU Earns CHED Approval as Delivering HEI for CHED–SIKAP Graduate Programs

Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) has officially been approved as a Delivering Higher Education Institution (DHEI) for the implementation of the Scholarships for Staff and Instructors’ Knowledge Advancement Program (SIKAP) under the Delivering HEI Model, as confirmed on 14 January 2026.

As an approved DHEI in CHED Region VIII, Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) is authorized to deliver a diverse range of SIKAP-eligible graduate programs across its campuses. These include the Doctor of Philosophy in Technology Management; Master in Management; Master of Science in Information Technology; and the Master in Teaching and Learning Innovation, with majors in English Language, Filipino, Mathematics, and Science, offered at the Sogod Campus.

In addition, the Tomas Oppus Campus is authorized to offer a Master of Arts in Education (MAEd) with majors in Science Education, English, Educational Management, Social Science, Mathematics, and Filipino, as well as the Doctor of Education (EdD) major in Educational Management.

This recognition underscores SLSU’s sustained commitment to strengthening faculty and staff competencies through advanced education, research, and professional development. The approval further reinforces the university’s role in promoting academic excellence, innovation, and institutional capacity-building in higher education across Eastern Visayas.
