During the forum, SLSU was formally recognized as a member of the Multi-Sectoral Advisory Committee (MSAC), affirming the University’s role as a key institutional partner in supporting local governance, capability development, and regional development initiatives in Eastern Visayas.

The meeting opened with preliminaries, followed by a message from Hon. Arnel M. Agabe, CESO III, Regional Director of DILG Region VIII. In his address, Director Agabe underscored the importance of strong collaboration and sustained partnerships among government agencies, academic institutions, and development partners in advancing institutional development across the region.

Looking ahead, Dr. Jhonel M. Añavesa, Chief of the Local Government Monitoring and Evaluation Division (LGMED), presented “Looking Ahead: Building on Our Synergies,” highlighting future priorities, strategic directions, and opportunities for enhanced coordination among partner institutions.

The forum also featured the Partners’ Spotlight: Celebrating Contributions, recognizing the valuable support and active involvement of institutional partners. The activity concluded with a synthesis of key points, agreements, and proposed action plans, reaffirming the commitment of MSAC members and partners, including SLSU, to sustain collaborative initiatives in support of institutional development in Region VIII.
