SLSU Receives Certificate of Recognition from EVCIEERD for 2025 Partnership

TACLOBAN CITY, Philippines (December 15, 2025) — Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) was conferred a Certificate of Recognition by the Eastern Visayas Consortium for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (EVCIEERD) in appreciation of the University’s invaluable partnership and collaboration in the successful conduct of consortium activities for 2025.

The recognition was formally received by Dr. Francis Ann R. Sy (Vice President for Research, Innovation and Extension Services), representing SLSU, during the consortium’s LEGACY celebration and awarding ceremonies held at the Radiant Hotel, Tacloban City. The certificate was presented by Dr. John Glenn D. Ocaña (DOST VIII Regional Director and EVCIEERD Board of Directors Vice Chair) and Dr. Dennis C. De Paz (EVCIEERD Board Chair and Eastern Visayas State University President).

EVCIEERD recognized SLSU for its sustained collaboration and active support to the consortium’s initiatives, reflecting the University’s continuing commitment to research, innovation, and extension that contribute to regional development.

The awarding formed part of EVCIEERD’s year-end program which gathered key consortium leaders, member institutions, and partners to celebrate milestones and acknowledge institutions that have strengthened the regional research and development ecosystem through teamwork and shared initiatives. Alongside the recognitions, the event also featured updates and engagement activities that underscored EVCIEERD’s direction for sustained collaboration moving forward.
