SLSU RIES Relief Outreach in Brgy. Mac, Sogod

On November 21, 2025, the Southern Leyte State University – Research, Innovation, and Extension Services (SLSU-RIES), through its Extension Services Office, conducted a relief outreach in Brgy. Maac, Sogod, one of the communities severely affected by Typhoon Tino.

As the home university of Sogod, SLSU remains deeply committed to serving its surrounding communities. Leading the outreach were Ms. Adelfa C. Diola, Director of Extension Services, and Dr. Francis Ann R. Sy, who delivered an inspiring and heartfelt message to the 50 severely affected families, assuring them that SLSU stands with them during this difficult time.

Through the generosity of SLSU students, faculty, staff, and employees, the team distributed clothes, drinking water, and essential goods to families whose homes and livelihoods were impacted by the recent disasters.

This initiative reflects SLSU’s unwavering dedication to extension service, community solidarity, and bayanihan, demonstrating that the University is not just located in Sogod—it is part of Sogod, ready to help whenever its people are in need.

Thank you to everyone who shared their blessings and supported this meaningful mission.
