SLSU-TO LHS Delegation Attends Prestigious YMCA National Leadership Gathering
Fourteen student leaders from Southern Leyte State University – Tomas Oppus Laboratory High School (SLSU-TO LHS) are currently taking part in the 33rd Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) National Youth Assembly and the 26th National High School Club Advisers Seminar in Baguio City. This marks the school's second national participation focused on youth leadership and formation.
The three-day assembly, themed "Transfor/ mY /ssion: Living the Call, Becoming the Change," runs from November 2 to 4, 2025, at Teachers Camp in Baguio City. The program brings together youth leaders from across the country to engage in team-building workshops, leadership sessions, and collaborative activities designed to inspire service-driven leadership and civic involvement.
Representing SLSU-TO LHS are student leaders Ralph L. Balaba, Ezra D. Cañon, Rocco Javier P. Dizon, Samly Miguel T. Dizon, Vien B. Gamohay, Jullia M. Kangleon, Xexy E. Pano, Chrysall G. Rosales, Deah A. Rosello, Karishma A. Sala, Francelle I. Suarez, Alesha M. Uy, Mariana Joy S. Valenzona, and Althea Mae L. Villafuerte. Joining them are their advisers, Dr. Sybill Krizzia G. Ledesma and Mr. Raniel G. Aninapon, who are guiding and supporting the delegation throughout the event.
Through their participation, the SLSU-TO LHS delegates continue to uphold the university's commitment to academic excellence, character formation, and community leadership. The experience is expected to equip the students with enhanced leadership skills and meaningful insights to bring back to their school community.
This participation also supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), by fostering youth leadership, collaboration, and transformative learning.
