SLSU-FTVE Joins Regional TVET Innovation Center Stakeholders’ Forum

The core faculty members of the Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLEd) program under the Faculty of Technology and Vocational Education (FTVE) of Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) took part in the Regional TVET Innovation Center Stakeholders’ Consultative Forum held on October 24, 2025, at the TESDA VIII Conference Room, Abucay, Tacloban City, Leyte. 

Hosted by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Regional Training Center – Tacloban, the forum served as a platform for academic institutions, industry representatives, and TESDA officials to exchange insights and strengthen partnerships in implementing Technical-Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs across Eastern Visayas. 

The activity opened with messages from TESDA Regional Director Dr. Dan M. Navarro and Senior TESD Specialist Engr. Ricky P. Piandong, who both emphasized the importance of active partnerships in driving TVET forward. Participants were also introduced to the SIPTVETS Project and the objectives of the Regional TVET Innovation Center (RTIC) through a presentation by Center Administrator Mr. Primo V. Regis, Jr.

In the open forum moderated by Ms. Ma. Lourdes T. Daganio, participants exchanged ideas on curriculum development, skills alignment, and industry-driven learning. The conversation highlighted a shared commitment among stakeholders to elevate the quality and relevance of technical and vocational programs in the region.

At the same time, FTVE remains steadfast in promoting innovation and partnership in technology and livelihood education, supporting the nation’s drive for a skilled and resilient workforce.
