SLSU Represents the Philippines at HEPCON 2025 in Jakarta, Indonesia

Southern Leyte State University proudly joined the Higher Education Partnerships Conference (HEPCON) 2025, held on September 26–27, 2025, in Jakarta, Indonesia, as one of the selected universities representing the Philippines. The Philippine delegation was led by Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Commissioner Desiderio Apag III, with Dr. Czarina Ancella Gabi, Faculty Dean of the Computer Studies and Information Technology (FCSIT), serving as SLSU’s representative.

HEPCON 2025 served as a vital platform for higher education leaders across Asia and beyond to discuss strategies for strengthening academic partnerships, fostering innovation, and advancing internationalization. The conference’s key objective is to build collaborative networks among universities, industry partners, and government agencies in response to the evolving challenges of global education.

Ahead of the official HEPCON proceedings, a pre-conference activity was held on September 25. The day began with a courtesy visit to the Philippine Embassy in Jakarta, emphasizing the role of diplomacy in promoting educational cooperation. In the afternoon, the delegation engaged in a benchmarking and collaboration meeting at Bina Nusantara University (BINUS), one of Indonesia’s premier private institutions, to explore opportunities for joint research, academic exchange, and innovation initiatives.

Through its active participation in HEPCON 2025, SLSU reaffirms its commitment to international engagement and academic excellence, proudly carrying the banner of Philippine higher education on the global stage.
