Out of 665 cadets who underwent Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Summer Camp Training (RSCT), two (2) cadets from Southern Leyte State University ROTC-Unit took the spot of Top 1 and Top 2 in the recent Regional Examination conducted by the Philippine Army at Camp Downes Ormoc City,

The Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Summer Camp Training (RSCT) is one of the most vital and transformative experiences for ROTC cadets in the Philippines. Conducted under the auspices of the Philippine Army Reserve Command (ARESCOM), RSCT is specifically designed for third-year cadets who have completed their Basic ROTC training and are preparing to advance to leadership roles.

The training typically spans two to four weeks, offering a holistic military experience. Cadets wake up before sunrise, attend daily flag ceremonies, and engage in rigorous physical fitness tests, long-distance marches, obstacle courses, and tactical drills. They learn basic military tactics, map reading, land navigation, and weapon handling. Beyond the physical component, RSCT also focuses heavily on leadership.
