SLSU goes global through Student Mobility Program in Indonesia

As Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) intensifies its global engagement efforts, ten (10) students and one (1) faculty member have arrived in Tangerang, Banten, Indonesia, to participate in the Student Mobility Program at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara, taking place from July 13-19, 2025.

The program aims to equip participants with academic and practical knowledge through discussions on Sustainable Practices, Visual Branding, and Copywriting. In addition to academic sessions, participants will be immersed in Indonesian language and culture through hands-on experiences such as Batik crafting, traditional Indonesian cuisine preparation, fish catching, and village cycling.

The SLSU student delegates include Christian T. Bañez, Lael Christian L. Joven, Jovien Christian A. Cabanay, Marc Eric S. Dadios, and Mark Din D. Estopia from the Main Campus; Cyrus E. Manliguis, Llianee Cyl Helaena D. Balbon, and Paul Andrey B. Medalla from the Tomas Oppus Campus; and Jerold A. Mernilo and Glenn M. Canceller from the San Juan Campus. They are accompanied by Dr. Monna Liza Bosque, who will serve as the faculty coordinator for the duration of the program.

The SLSU team will spend three weeks in the mobility program alongside students from various universities and colleges across the Philippines, Cambodia, Thailand, India, Malaysia, and other participating countries. Together, they will engage in academic exchange and showcase their respective cultures through various presentations and collaborative activities.

In alignment with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals—the initiative fosters international collaboration and promotes intercultural understanding.
