SLSU Hosts Three-Day Curriculum Reimagining Workshop for Graduate Teacher Education

In line with its commitment to innovation and excellence in higher education, Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) conducted a three-day Curriculum Reimagining Workshop from June 19 to 21, 2025, aimed at future-proofing its Graduate Teacher Education Programs.

Held over three consecutive days, the workshop brought together faculty members, program chairs, and curriculum developers to critically examine and review the Graduate Teacher Education Curricular Programs, redesign Graduate Teacher Education Courses, and revise the Graduate Teacher Education Course Syllabus.

The primary goal of the activity was to ensure that the university’s academic programs remain relevant, responsive, and aligned with the emerging demands of education, the future of work, and the shifting needs of society.

To further strengthen the impact of the workshop, SLSU invited Dr. Greg Tabios Pawilen, a nationally recognized expert in curriculum studies and a professor from the University of the Philippines Los Baños. Dr. Pawilen shared valuable insights on integrating future thinking, digital literacy, and sustainability into graduate education.

This initiative reflects SLSU’s proactive stance in enhancing the quality and relevance of graduate education. It also demonstrates the university’s alignment with national and global education goals, including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in SDG 4: Quality Education.
