SLSU joins 40th Philippine Nihongo Teachers’ Forum

Ms. Khristyl Sibay, a Nihongo Instructor at Southern Leyte State University, recently participated in the 40th Philippine Nihongo Teachers’ Forum on May 30, 2025, at the University of the Philippines – Diliman.
The annual forum was co-organized by The Japan Foundation and the UP Department of Linguistics, in cooperation with the Association of Japanese Language Teachers (AJALT).
Featuring two dynamic workshops, Dr. Miho Tokimoto from Sapienza University of Rome led the participants in engaging in an immersive process of verbalizing personal feelings using diverse multimodal resources.
Following this, Dr. Sachiko Adachi, an AJALT Instructor, facilitated the second session where participants discovered how to seamlessly incorporate songs, word games, poetry, and traditional Japanese waka into lessons across all proficiency levels.
Sibay Sensei’s participation intensifies SLSU’s commitment to advancing foreign language program and ensuring an enriched learning experience for Nihongo students at SLSU.
