SLSU EL Educators boost skills at TESOL in Action 2025

English Language Educators from Southern Leyte State University participated in the Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) in Action International Conference on May 26–27, 2025 at the LNU Ballroom Hall.

The international conference was jointly hosted by Leyte Normal University and the United States Embassy – Regional English Language Office (RELO). Key speakers were English Language Fellows from the US Embassy, Ms. Emily Box, Ms. Maureen Rooney, and Mr. Michael Schapiro, along with esteemed language experts from LNU: Dr. Glenda Cadiente, Dr. Arlynn Aguilar, Prof. Jufran Agustin, and Prof. Robertgie Piañar. They delivered topics anchored on the practical approaches for effective language teaching.

Among the SLSU participants were Dr. Erlinda Tibus and Dr. Leslie Elisa Cobilla from the Tomas Oppus Campus; Mr. Roselito Cadavos and Mr. Exekiel Ed Elizan from the Main Campus; and Ms. Lovely Bahia from the Hinunangan Campus. They reflected on the profound insights on classroom teaching strategies especially emphasizing the vital role of tech-enhanced, task-based, and differentiated instruction in elevating language classrooms at SLSU.
