SLSU-TO, Songkhla Rajabhat University discuss Prospective Memorandum of Understanding for Student Internship Abroad Program

Southern Leyte State University-Tomas Oppus Campus hosts a consultative virtual meeting with Songkhla Rajabhat University of Thailand to discuss Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Student Internship Abroad Program (SIAP).

The meeting is attended by key representatives from both institutions. From SLSU-TO, Dr. Clemente Cobilla, Campus Director, Dr. Ingrid Uy, ELIA Director, Dr. Leslie Cobilla, SIAP Supervisor, Mrs. Ma Jovillea Palanca, Extension Coordinator, and Mr. Jayson Orais. PASCOM Coordinator are present. Representing Songkhla Rajabhat University are Mr. Ralph Torres, Lecturer at the Faculty of Science and Technology, and Dr. Ekkapon Phairot, Officer for International Affairs at the Faculty of Education.

Mrs. Tomaub commences the meeting with an introduction of the attendees and an explanation of the meeting's purpose. Following this, Dr. Leslie Cobilla provides an overview and description of the Student Internship Abroad Program (SIAP). Dr. Ingrid Uy continues the discussion by sharing recent experiences, collaborations, and agreements with other international universities.

During the meeting, it is agreed that initial online activities would be conducted before finalizing the Memorandum of Understanding. Both universities express enthusiasm for the short-term cultural exchange and recognize its potential to strengthen international partnerships and improve the quality of education. This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No. 4, which focuses on quality education, and SDG No. 17, which emphasizes partnerships for the goals.

The meeting concludes on a positive note, with both institutions commits to advancing their collaboration and taking the necessary steps to implement the Student Internship Abroad Program (SIAP).
