Southern Leyte State U joins Agri-Aqua Fair in celebration of Southern Leyte Anniversary

Southern Leyte State University participated in the Agri-Aqua Fair Show as part of the 64th Provincial Anniversary of Southern Leyte, at the Forest Tree Park, Capitol Site, Asuncion, Maasin City.

The Office of the Extension Services headed by Dr. Angel Sabusap, Director for ES, in coordination with SLSU Bontoc Campus led the Agri - Aqua Exhibit of the university which was opened last June 14, 2024. Dr. Sabusap also attended the opening of the said Exhibit last June 24, 2024, which was also marked by the presence of the Governor Damian G. Mercado; Vice Governor Rosa Emilia Mercado; Municipal Mayors from Southern Leyte together with the Municipal Agriculturists; and Dr. Prose Ivy Yepes, VSU President who served as the guest speaker for the exhibit.

The agricultural and aquatic products from Bontoc Campus, such as fresh Tilapia, Tilapia fry and frozen Bangus were displayed, together with the food products developed at the Center of Natural Food and Organic Research (CONFOR).

This collaborationis in line to the following Sustainable Development Goals: SDG # 1: No Poverty; SDG # 2: Zero Hunger; SDG # 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure; SDG # 12: Responsible Consumption and Production; SDG # 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
