Tomas Oppus Campus faculty receives 2023 Asia's Outstanding Young Educator award

Dr. Mark B. Galdo, a faculty member at Southern Leyte State University-Tomas Oppus Campus, was awarded as Asia's Outstanding Young Educator of the Year during the Asia's Outstanding Awards 2023 held on April 29 in Manila.

He was diagnosed with a brain mass in 2022. Throughout his treatment, Dr. Galdo demonstrated incredible resilience and determination. He recently underwent Intensity Modulated Radiation and this treatment required him to endure 21 days, battling the physical and emotional toll that accompanies such a medical journey.

Dr. Galdo managed to balance his health and professional responsibilities admirably. He continued to impart knowledge, inspire students, and contribute to the growth of Tomas Oppus Campus and the university as a whole, displaying a level of commitment and perseverance that sets him apart as an exceptional educator.
