Southern Leyte State U excels with 8 new registered criminologists

Southern Leyte State University has once again proven its excellence in producing highly competent criminologists, with the College of Criminal Justice (CCJ) achieving outstanding results in the April 2023 Licensure Examination.

The CCJ proudly welcomes eight newly licensed criminologists, contributing to the university's impressive track record.

Among the passers are Paulo Maisog, Eugene Isog, Joanna Somosa, Freddierix Novel Blanco, Saturn Jay Aceron, Ramil Vinculado, Flordelyn Labrador, and Jennycis Arcibal.

This accomplishment has propelled the university's institutional passing rate to an impressive 88.89%, far surpassing the national passing rate of 31.84% as reported by the Philippine Regulation Commission (PRC).

Dr. Gerald Ceniza, the Dean of CCJ, emphasized the college's enduring struggles and unwavering efforts in attaining the national passing percentage they aimed for.

"We have consistently intensified our campaign to enhance the quality of our graduates. Prior to their departure from the university, we ensure that our students are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the licensure examination," Dr. Ceniza shared.

University President Dr. Jude A. Duarte congratulated the successful passers and expressed his gratitude to the dedicated faculty of CCJ. He praised their commitment to guiding students and fostering their success, recognizing their invaluable contributions to the students' achievements.

"Your unwavering dedication is truly commendable. Together, we celebrate this significant milestone and eagerly anticipate the bright futures that lie ahead for our graduates," Dr. Duarte said.

Leading the batch of passers is Kenneth Dela Torre of Naga College Foundation, securing the top spot with an individual passing percentage of 89%.

The PRC also announced that out of 13,000 examinees who took the Licensure Examination for Criminologists in April 2023 across 30 testing centers nationwide, 4,139 successfully passed, further emphasizing the significance of the accomplishments of Southern Leyte State U's criminology graduates.
