Southern Leyte State U stays above nat’l passing rate in October 2022 licensure exam for teachers

Southern Leyte State University manages to produce a whooping 355 passers in the recently released October 2022 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) announced by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

Both the elementary and secondary level results gave Southern Leyte State University passing percentages a cut above the national passing rate.

For the elementary level, Southern Leyte State U-Tomas Oppus Campus and Southern Leyte State U-Main Campus got an institutional passing rate of 100% and 91% respectively. The national passing rate is 54.43%.

Meanwhile, for the secondary level, Tomas Oppus Campus got 80.58% passing rate, 78.79% in Hinunangan Campus, 73.03% in Main Campus, and 66.67% in San Juan Campus. The national passing rate for secondary level is 50.94%

Dr. Prose Ivy G. Yepes, University President, is very much happy with the results as it justifies the recognition that the University received being the Center for Development for the Bachelor of Elementary Education and Bachelor for Secondary Education.

Baby Patricia Bensi and Ma. Catherine Cauba, both from Cebu Normal College, topped this year’s batch of passers for the elementary level with a passing percentage of 94.6%. Meanwhile, Philippine Normal University is the top performing school for the elementary level.

On the other hand, Jessiree Pantilagan from the University of Mindanao-Panabo topped the secondary level with 91.46% rate while University of the Philippines-Los Baños and University of the Philippines-Visayas Iloilo are the top performing schools.

A total of 49,783 out of 91,468 passed the elementary level while 71,080 out of 139,534 passed the secondary level, PRC said.
