Southern Leyte State U establishes new partnership with Pukyong National University in Korea

Southern Leyte State University forges new ground with international partnership as it signed a Memorandum of Understanding with BK21 MADEC (Marine Designeering Education Research Group) of Pukyong National University (PNU) in Busan South Korea on November 10, 2022 at Cebu Technological University-Danao Campus.

Such partnership is an effort of Southern Leyte State U to strengthen its international partnership that creates bilateral and multilateral benefits for academic, research, innovation, industry links for student OJTs, and career placement.

Southern Leyte State U and BK21 MADEC have initiated this mutual exchange agreement for a joint effort to promote collaborative academic, educational, and research exchange between both institutions and offer students reciprocal exchange opportunities.

In her speech, University President Dr. Prose Ivy G. Yepes shared her delight with this partnership anew.

"Building on this new relationship with BK21 MADEC, the agreements will enrich our ability to explore dynamic, interdisciplinary research projects and contribute to student mobility by offering an international experience," Dr. Yepes said.

Southern Leyte State U commits as advance learning institution to provide education that meets the contemporary setting’s demands. One of these significant demands are language, arts and culture reshaping creative education to increase learner’s engagement.

These forms are integral part of far-reaching and global education becoming Southern Leyte State U a competitive university.

The Center for Foreign Language and Culture (CFLC) of the External Linkages and International Affairs (ELIA) of Southern Leyte State U spearheaded the partnership with BK21 MADEC of PNU represented by Professor Cho Joung Hyun as its University President.

Present during the ceremonial signing were University President Dr. Yepes, Head of CFLC Dr. Dinah Catamco, and Career Services Coordinator Ms. Minerva B. Baclayon.
