DOST-8 honors Southern Leyte State U scholarship coordinator, scholar-graduates with honors

In a bid to celebrate the excellence of the individuals of the science community, the Regional Office VIII of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-8) paid tribute to Southern Leyte State U scholarship coordinator and outstanding student-scholars who graduated with honors for academic year 2021-2022 on November 15, 2022.

Dubbed as "In Touch with Excellence (ITWE)," the recognition ceremony recognized seven (7) graduate-scholars from Southern Leyte State U to celebrate success, grit, and resilience.

Such recognition was given to Eden Vina L. Grate (Magna Cum Laude), Lawrence L. Jovita (Cum Laude), Leevi May A. Bascug (Cum Laude), Mariz H. Bacquiano (Cum Laude), Jenelyn Y. Diola (Cum Laude), Linimel T. Tidalgo (Cum Laude), and Kyla Franchesca M. Suhillo (Cum Laude).

Meanwhile, Scholarship Coordinator Ms. Lourna Acaso was also awarded with a plaque of recognition for her distinguished and invaluable service as the scholarship coordinator of Southern Leyte State U from 2010 to present.

In his speech, DOST Regional Director Engr. Ernesto M. Granada highlighted the importance of supporting the education and the students in the field of science and technology.

"We administer scholarships to our students to promote S&T culture and develop innovative science education and programs. Thus, we commit to strengthen the impact of scholarship programs," Director Granada said.

ITWE is an annual celebration of DOST to commemorate the achievements of DOST-SEI student-scholars who graduated with honors in their BS, MS, PhD degrees.
