Southern Leyte State U starts distribution of load cards to office heads, faculty members

Southern Leyte State University has started to turn over load cards to office directors, heads, deans, and faculty members on October 24, 2022 to provide essential services and assistance to students as it continues to implement its limited face-to-face classes.

This initiative was made at the height of the pandemic last year for an easy communication among faculty members and to easily connect and contact students whenever there are important announcements.

Moreover, these loads cards are used to aid faculty members with data connection in order to deliver their classes online.

Since the start of the academic year 2022-2023 in August, Southern Leyte State U follows an alternate schedule in the conduct of the face-to-face classes where all 1st year and 4th year students will attend the face-to-face classes in one week. The 2nd year and 3rd year students will hold their classes online on that same week. Alternatively, 2nd year and 3rd year students will conduct their face-to-face classes while the 1st year and 3rd year will have their classes online.

Such scheme is an initiative to ensure the safety of the students and employees of the University to avoid transmission of COVID-19 virus.

University President Dr. Prose Ivy Yepes said that it took some time to distribute the load cards due to realigning of the budget.

Php 2,700 worth of load cards were distributed among office directors, heads, deans, and faculty members.
