CHTM partners with LGU Hinunangan for tourism promotion, tourism dev't plan launching

The College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM) of Southern Leyte State University collaborated with the local government of Hinunangan town to promote its local tourism and launch the Municipality Tourism Development Plan.

The activity was held on October 7, 2022 to increase their capacity to administer and operate tourism activities through the Tourism Development Plan. This event acted as a showcase for Hinunangan's locally produced food products, handicrafts, and art exhibits. The event's centerpiece was also the presentation of the Tourism Industry Programs of the Municipality.

The local government unit of Hinunangan is one of the province's most popular and diversified tourist sites. It flaunts scenic beauty that can accommodate all types of visitors, its website says.

Further, the municipality also prioritizes the role of tourism in the general growth and development of the town, giving sustainability and inclusiveness precedence in action, as seen in the newly approved municipal tourism development plan.

Such activity was graced by the University President Dr. Prose Ivy G. Yepes, , Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension Services Dr. Francis Ann R. Sy, Director-Extension Services Dr. Frederick C. Aniga, CHTM Dean Dr. Ingrid M. Uy, and the rest of the CHTM faculty members.

Hinunangan Mayor Hon. Engr. Reynaldo Fernandez, Department of Tourism Regional Director Karina Rosa Tiopes, and other local and regional Tourism Officials were also present during the event.
