Southern Leyte State U initiates yet another blood donation drive

Following Republic Act No. 7719 commonly known as the National Blood Services Act 1994, Southern Leyte State University- Tomas Oppus' Office of Research, Innovation and Extension Services in cooperation with the Campus' Health Services co-spearheaded the conduct of ka-DUGO: A Blood Donation Drive of SLSU-Tomas Oppus on July 20, 2022.

The activity aims to raise public awareness about the value of blood donation in saving the lives of millions of Filipinos. Moreover, it seeks to assist the Department of Health (DOH) drive on promoting voluntary blood donation as a vital measure of emergency preparedness.

The Blood Donation Drive was graced by the Local Government Unit (LGU) and Rural Health
(RHU) of Tomas Oppus, Philippine Red Cross, Alpha Phi Omega, and Sogod Mobile Force. They voluntarily donate blood, recruit others to donate, and provide assistance in the blood donation drive activity.

This is the University’s way of helping the country particularly the Philippine Red Cross as they provide safe and high-quality blood and blood components obtained from willing donors.
