Southern Leyte State U holds training on machine learning, selected classification algorithm

The Office of Research and Innovation of Southern Leyte State University conducted training on Machine Learning and Selected Classification Algorithms on May 25-26, 2022 participated by the selected faculty and staff of the University.

The two-day activity aims to equip the participants by providing them knowledge of fundamental machine learning concepts to solve real-world problems in Data Science. This allows the participants to be competent in Machine Learning as its concepts are deemed important if embedded into research areas in agriculture, fisheries, education, engineering, and other disciplines.

Moreover, the training seeks to provide an opportunity for participants to be able to keep up with the trend as machine learning continues to increase in importance to business operations and Artificial Intelligence (AI) becomes more practical in enterprise settings.

The training provides the participants with the introduction to Machine Learning, lassification Algorithm, K-Nearest Neighbor (K-NN) Algorithm, Naïve Bayes Algorithm, Naïve Bayes Algorithm Application and The Weka Tools for Data Mining and Classifications.

The training on Machine Learning and Selected Classification Algorithms is in line with the University’s goal which is to intensify human capability development for research and innovation.
