Graduate Students Participate in Orientation Program
The Graduate School of Southern Leyte State University held its annual orientation program for incoming graduate students on February 25, 2023 at Multi-Purpose Court of SLSU- Main Campus. The program was designed to provide new students with an introduction to their program of study, the university's policies, and the resources available to them. The program was tailored to specific disciplines and programs, giving students the opportunity to meet with faculty, staff, and other students in their program.
The program consisted of a variety of sessions on academic and research expectations, campus and community resources, time management, and other topics relevant to graduate student success. The sessions were led by faculty and staff from various departments and offices across the university.
One of the highlights of the program was the opportunity for new students to meet and network with their peers. This included a welcome reception and social events throughout the program. Students were also given a tour of the campus, including the libraries, research facilities, and other important locations.
"We are thrilled to welcome our new graduate students to SLSU. The orientation program is an important opportunity for students to learn about our community and resources, and to connect with faculty and other students in their program," said Dr. Marie Chul C. Langub, Director of the Graduate School. "We look forward to supporting our students as they embark on their academic and professional journey."
One of the highlights of the program was the inspiring message given by Dr. Jude A. Duarte, the university president. Dr. Duarte welcomed the new students and emphasized the importance of academic excellence, research, and community engagement in their graduate studies. He also highlighted the role of the Graduate School in supporting students' academic and professional goals.

As they begin their journey at the university, these students can be confident that they have the support and resources they need to reach their goals.
