VMCJPI conducts Bibliometric Analysis Paper Writing

The Visayas–Mindanao Consortium for Journal Publication, Inc. (VMCJPI) successfully conducted a two-day academic writeshop titled “Bibliometric Analysis Paper Writing” on February 26 and March 05, 2026, bringing together faculty members, research directors, staff, and students from the consortium’s member institutions. The activity served as a platform for participants to strengthen their research writing skills, particularly in developing bibliometric analysis papers aimed for publication in reputable journals.

The first day of the activity formally opened with a welcome message from Dr. Jude A. Duarte, University President of Southern Leyte State University (SLSU). In his message, he warmly welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of strengthening research capabilities across institutions.

An inspirational message from Dr. Laurence L. Garcia, University President of Cebu Normal University (CNU), followed, where he encouraged participants to pursue meaningful and impactful research that contributes to knowledge development and academic excellence.

The highlight of Day 1 was the comprehensive lecture and guidance provided by the resource person, Dr. Ludito Ramirez, Head of Journal Publication of the Management Unit of SLSU. Dr. Ramirez expertly discussed the fundamentals and processes involved in developing a bibliometric analysis paper—from conceptualizing research topics to structuring the manuscript for publication. Participants were also given the opportunity to present their initial paper outputs and receive constructive feedback to further improve their studies.

The second day of the writeshop commenced with a welcome message from Dr. Francis Ann R. Sy, Vice President for Research, Innovation and Extension Services of SLSU. She highlighted the importance of continuous research engagement and collaboration among scholars within the consortium.

An inspirational message was delivered by Dr. Benedicto Militante Jr., Vice President for Academic Affairs of Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU), who emphasized the value of research productivity and institutional collaboration in advancing academic scholarship.

The activity concluded with closing remarks from Dr. Ferdinand A. Dumalagan, Vice President for Research, Innovation, Development and Extension Affairs (RIDEA), who expressed appreciation to the organizers, resource person, and participants for their dedication and active engagement throughout the writeshop.

The highlight of the second day was the final presentation of the participants’ bibliometric analysis papers, which showcased their learning, commitment, and progress in producing quality research outputs.

This successful two-day writeshop reflects VMCJPI’s continued commitment to strengthening research capabilities, fostering inter-institutional collaboration, and guiding scholars toward publishing in reputable journals.
