VMCJPI conducts Journal Typesetting and Online Journal System Workshop

The Visayas-Mindanao Consortium for Journal Publications, Inc. (VMCJPI) recently conducted the Seminar Writeshop: Capability Building Sessions on Journal Typesetting/Layouting and Online Journal System (OJS). The seminar-writeshop was held at Alta Cebu Resorts in Pilipog, Cordova, Cebu on April 16-17, 2024, and participated in by 35 journal production and online support staff from 13 member institutions of the VMCJPI.

The VMCJPI is grateful for the praiseworthy services of the expert resource persons from Southern Leyte State University (SLSU) and the University of San Jose Recoletos (USJR). 

Mr. Francis Rey Padao, the online support staff and assistant professor of SLSU, served as the resource person for the workshop on OJS. Meanwhile, Mr. Tamar Mejia, Jr., journal typesetter and associate professor of SLSU, and Ms. Chanine Sevilla, journal circulation staff of USJR, served as resource persons for the journal typesetting/layout workshop.

Participants of the workshop included the journal staff and managing editors of VMCJPI-member institutions from Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (2), Biliran Province State University (4), Bohol Island State University (4), Cebu Normal University (3), Eastern Samar State University (2), Eastern Visayas State University (2), Guimaras State University (4), Jose Rizal Memorial State University (1), Leyte Normal University (2), Northwest Mindanao State College of Science and Technology (4), Southern Leyte State University (2), Samar State University (4) and University of San Jose Recoletos (2).

VMCJPI is housed at the SLSU with Dr. Jude A. Duarte - University President, and Dr. Francis Ann R. Sy - VP for Research, Innovation, and Extension Services, as the Consortium BOD Chair and TWG Chair, respectively.
