SLSU signs MOA with Brgy. Mayuga for Extension Activity program

Southern Leyte State U, through the Office of the Extension Services and the efforts of the faculty from the Institute of Arts and Sciences, Language, Literature, Communication, Humanities and Human Kinetics Unit (LLCHHK) Department, entered a collaboration with Brgy. Mayuga, Libagon Southern Leyte's Women's Association by signing a Memorandum of Agreement on May 31, 2023, at Brgy. Mayuga covered court for a program on uplifting community-dwelling mothers' and older women's health and well-being through home-based exercise videos.

The MOA signing ceremony was attended by the faculty of the LLCHHK Department, headed by Dr. Flordeliza Vitor with Dr. Synamar Yuag, Dr. Eda Opina, Ms. Geraldine Abella, Mr. Rey Comabig, Mr. Carlo Trasmonte, Mr. Nonito Deligero, Jr., Ms. Daisy Cosina, Mr. Uriel G. Maglines, Ms. Bernadith Radaza, Ms. Ma. Fiona Tesha Ren, Miss Christyl Donnah Amora Mr. Jude Cañete, Mr. Neil Brian Antipolo, and Mr. Arthur Calope as well as Dr. Frederick Aniga and Ms. Adelfa Diola as guests from the Office of the Vice President for Research, Innovation and Extension Services.

The barangay captain of Mayuga, Hon. Reo Mantilla, and the Mayuga Women's Association, headed by their president, Mrs. Ethel Mantilla, attended the ceremony.
The program's launching took place right after the MOA signing ceremony, where the program participants were asked to have their vitals, like blood pressure and weight, to monitor their improvement as the program went on.

Mr. Nonito Deligero, Jr., did a presentation of the video material where he explained that the material would be the source of instruction. Before the end of the launching program, the Women's Association was asked if they would be willing to participate in a dance session every night for a month, to which they happily agreed.
