SLSU-Bontoc Sports Coordinator participates to plans for Municipal’s Sports-for-All Program

Recognizing the role of sports as a tool to promote human development, SLSU-Bontoc Sports Coordinator, Mr. Sherwin G. Caday, joined the members of Bontoc Municipal Sports Council on October 17, 2023, at the SB Session Hall to plan and promote Bontoc’s 2024 Sports Development Program anchored on the National Government’s Sport -for-All Program.

Important highlights during the discussion include providing cash incentives to eligible athletes and coaches and the availability of shared sports facilities. The latter to which Mr. Caday suggested entering into a mutual agreement between LGU-Bontoc and SLSU-Bontoc about free access to SLSU-Bontoc Sports Facilities, namely volleyball and tennis court and field oval, by Bontoc-based agencies and educational
institutions.

Bontoc, Southern Leyte, home to the Bontoc campus of Southern Leyte State University, is now capitalizing on its rich natural and cultural attractions in promoting sports, recreation, and adventure tourism.
