SLSU-Hinunangan Faculty Member presents Groundbreaking Research at AECON 2023

Mr. G-mar D. Mondragon, a distinguished faculty member from the Department of Agribusiness at Southern Leyte State University - Hinunangan Campus (SLSU-HC, showcased his research paper "Organizational Resilience of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises during COVID-19 Pandemic: A Perspective from Pacific Towns in Southern Leyte, Philippines" at the prestigious International Conference on Applied and Agriculture Economics (AECON 2023). This significant academic event occurred via Zoom teleconferencing from October 19 to 20, 2023.

AECON 2023, themed "Agriculture Economics at the Frontier: Learning from the Past and Shaping the Future of the Global Agricultural Economy," was organized by the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics (DAAE) and the Applied and Agricultural Economics Society, Inc. (AAES). The conference aimed to foster discussions on the role and challenges faced by the food and agriculture sector in sustainable development, particularly in population growth and the profound impact of significant shocks exemplified by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mr. Mondragon's presentation centered on the resilience of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) during the COVID-19 pandemic, explicitly focusing on the Pacific towns in Southern Leyte, Philippines. His research delved into the strategies employed by these enterprises to withstand the adversities brought about by the pandemic, shedding light on their adaptability and resourcefulness.
