SLSU-Hinunangan Equips Employees with Web-Based HRMIS and Facial Recognition System

Southern Leyte State University - Hinunangan Campus (SLSU-HC) took an important step toward modernizing its administrative processes by conducting comprehensive training and deploying a Web-based Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS) and a Facial Recognition System on October 11, 2023 at the Student Welfare & Development Center - HC.

During the short opening program, Engr. Carol Orias, HRMO I, delivered a heartfelt welcoming speech highlighting the importance of the new systems. She emphasized how these advances would expedite HR procedures, improve security, and make information and services more available to employees.

Ms. Hazelle V. Asaldo, the HRMD Director, stated the event’s purpose, underlining the university’s commitment to staying competitive with technological advancements. She explained how these systems align with the institution’s vision of leveraging technology to improve operations.

The resource speakers for the event were Mr. Antonio De Paz Jr. and Mr. Junatan Marc Cadayona, both from the Information Systems Unit of the SLSU-Main Campus, and their head, Mr. Nestnie D. Honrada. Joining them was Ms. Hazelle V. Asaldo, the University Director for Human Resource Management and Development (HRMD). The activity concluded with an evaluation session to gather feedback from the attendees, which will be valuable for enhancing future training sessions.

SLSU-Hinunangan was the last campus within the university system to adopt the HRMIS fully. The campus recently completed database matching and migration in September 2023, ensuring a smooth transition. In a noteworthy development, SLSU-Hinunangan also launched a mobile version of the Daily Time Record (DTR), which will be made available for use across the entire university.

This initiative signifies SLSU-Hinunangan’s dedication to fostering a technologically advanced and efficient work environment, aligning with the broader objectives of Southern Leyte State University in adapting to modern administrative practices.
