New LHS Activity Center now blessed
In a momentous event that marked a significant milestone for Southern Leyte State University – Tomas Oppus Campus Laboratory High School and its students, the newly constructed Activity Center was blessed on May 27, 2023.
The blessing happened immediately after the Baccalaureate Mass, led by Reverend Father Ronielo M. Tindugan.
LHS officials, including SLSU-Tomas Oppus Campus Director Dr. Constantino G. Medilo, College Dean Dr. Clemente H. Cobilla, and LHS Principal Mr. Joseph M. Añavesa, attended the ceremony.
The ceremony commenced with an invocation by Rev. Fr. Ronielo M. Tindugan, invoking blessings upon the new facility and its future occupants.
Following the solemn prayer, Dr. Constantino G. Medilo and Dr. Clemente H. Cobilla, accompanied by Mr. Joseph M. Añavesa, proceeded to cut the ceremonial ribbon, symbolizing the official opening of the Activity Center.
The presence of these dignitaries highlighted their dedication and commitment to providing an enriched learning environment for the LHS stakeholders.
Likewise, the students led by the Student Body Organization (SBO) has played an integral role in the ceremony. Their enthusiasm and excitement were palpable as they actively participated in the event, rejoicing the long-awaited Activity Center.
The newly blessed Activity Center expects to serve as a vibrant hub of academic, cultural, and extracurricular activities for the students.
“This facility offers ample space to accommodate various events and functions, ranging from seminars, exhibitions, talent showcases, and sports activities, and other potpourri shows,” Mr. Añavesa expressed in an interview with student writers.
The completion of the Activity Center stands as a testament to the LHS's unwavering commitment to providing a holistic education experience.
This new addition is set to amplify the school's mission of nurturing well-rounded individuals who are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their chosen fields.
With its opening, the students can embark on a journey of endless possibilities, fostering creativity, camaraderie, and personal growth within its hallowed walls.
