Southern Leyte State U prepares for PCIEERD research proposals

The Research and Innovation Office of Southern Leyte State University hosted the initial virtual presentation of research proposals for submission to the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (PCIEERD) of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), in the areas of Good Governance through Data Science and Decision Support System (GODDESS), and Institution Development Program (IDP), on February 16, 2023.

It serves as preparation for the actual presentation to the PCIEERD on February 20, 2023, for a fundable full-blown research proposal. This initiative is in continuous commitment of SLSU to becoming a research University, with the intention to bring the needs of the community in its research initiatives, and produce new knowledge and technology to serve Leyteños and other service areas.

The panelist invited to comment with the research presentations were; Mr. Adonis Q. Talabo, Founder, Axiom Continuum Solution Inc. & Board of Regent, SLSU; Mr. Adrian Sablan, Head IP Management and Technology Transfer; and Ernesto J. Guades, Ph.D, M.ASCE, M.SEI, Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering of University of Guam.

Meanwhile, the Eastern Visayas Consortium for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (EVCIEERD) conducted an online evaluation to the four research proposals of SLSU intended for the areas of GODDESS and IDP on February 20, 2023 relevant to the University’s preparation for Research proposals for PCIEERD Funding.

The research proposals were given comments, and suggestions for further improvement by the panel of evaluators; with Engr. Mirador Labrador as Chairperson, Vice President for Research & Development and Extension Services - Samar State University; Dr. Analyn Españo, EVCIEERD TWG Chairperson, Vice President for Research & Development and Extension Services - Eastern Visayas State University, Dr. Maria Juliet Ceniza, Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension Services - Visayas State University, Dr. Catherine Iglesias, Education Supervisor II, Commission on Higher Education Regional Office VIII; and EnP. Linnito Pascual, EVCIEERD Technical Working Group Member, National Economic Development Authority Regional Office VIII.
