Southern Leyte State U commemorates int'l Women’s Day

The Southern Leyte State University joins the annual National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC) in the month of March 2022 in pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 2245, 227, and Republic Act No. 6469 initiated by the Philippine Commission on Women Memorandum Circular No. 2022- 01.

The celebration is in recognition of women’s role and contribution in nation-building and as agents of national development, with the theme "We make change work for women." It highlights the empowerment of women as harbingers of change that is anchored on “malasakit at pagbabago.”

This year's NWMC focuses on the sub-theme "Agenda ng Kababaihan, Tungo sa Kaunlaran", where it is the celebration of women exercising their choices, taking chances to make their voices heard, and benefitting from and trailblazing changes.
