SLSU benchmarks Samar State University's green energy practices through AREC

Southern Leyte State University, through the Affiliated Renewable Energy Center (AREC), embarked on a fruitful learning journey with Samar State University (SSU) last February 19-20, 2024, through a benchmarking activity on the solar installation and application practices of SSU.

Drawing inspiration from SSU's successful implementation of their green energy solutions, SLSU engaged in an in-depth discussion and first-hand observation of their exemplary practices.

This comprehensive approach allowed SLSU representatives to gain valuable insights into the entire process of planning, implementing, and operating the solar PV system at SSU and promotes the following;
• The importance of thorough planning, particularly regarding building integrity assessments for secure solar panel installation.
• Alignment with the DOE's GEMP program, highlighting the broader national sustainability goals these projects contribute to.

The knowledge gained from this collaboration extends beyond immediate benefits for SLSU. These valuable insights can be disseminated throughout the regional network of universities, fostering a collective spirit of environmental responsibility and sustainable practices. This ripple effect has the potential to inspire broader adoption of renewable energy solutions, paving the way for a greener future for the region and beyond.
